Some members of Team Nigeria to the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games arrived Nigeria on Sunday, September 18.
The special athletes were given a heroic welcome as they arrived the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja.
Senior staff of the Federal Ministry of Youth and
Sports, members of the supporters club, the sporting press, well-wishers
and family members all welcomed the athletes.
Receiving the special athletes at a short reception, the Acting Permanent Secretary and Director Enterprises, Mr Luka Jonathan Mangset thanked the athletes for making Nigeria proud at the Olympics.
A bigger reception has been planned for the special athletes by the Ministry of Sports.
Team Nigeria won a total of 8 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze medals to finish 17th in the medals table.The final batch of Team Nigeria athletes to the Paralympics will arrive the country on Monday, September 19.
