I don’t regret joining APC,’ Ex-governor says

Former Governor of Anambra state, Chief Jim Nwobodo has said that does not regret joining the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Nwobodo left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the APC on Friday, January 8, 2016.

He made the comment on Sunday, January 23, 2017, at his country home, Vanguard reports.

“The problem with Nigeria is that people did things with impunity. Though it may look difficult to be in APC in Igboland but I know what to tell my people because I have never disappointed them,” Nwobodo said.

“I never got appointment from PDP even as a founder. Looters came and drove all of us away. I belonged to a party that brought about the death of Savanna Bank but things will change for good. I have no regret joining APC because all my progressive friends are there,” he added.

Meanwhile, former Senate President, Ken Nnamani has also defected from the PDP to the APC.Nnamani left the opposition party for the ruling party on Sunday, January 22, 2017.

Former Ogun State governor, Gbenga Daniel, has alleged that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) offered to sell him a senatorial ticket in 2015.

Daniel made the disclosure on Wednesday, September 14, while speaking at a social media forum, Premium Times reports.

“I was offered the ticket at a price but I rejected it because I could not come to terms morally and in good conscience with purchasing a ticket to contest election to serve,” he said.

“Some people even tried to pay the price but I stopped them. Insiders are fully aware of these details. Just setting records straight with respects. I voluntarily declined, as I was engaged to coordinate President Jonathan's campaign in the SouthWest for PDP, while supporting most of our cheated candidates who went to PPN at that time.

“The crisis in the PDP in the build up to the 2011 election, which led to the change in the leadership of the party has been well documented in my memoirs 'Daniel in the Lion's Den',” he added.
