The Governor of Edo state, Adams Oshiomhole has expressed his displeasure at the activities of thugs whom he said fired shots at the Edo Central Senatorial District.
The Governor also alleged that some people snatched card readers from some officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Oshiomhole said “I don’t know how that happened because there ought to have been enough security in the polling units.
“At this point, it will be too difficult for one to draw a conclusion because this happened in only one unit of the over 2,000 polling units in the state.”
He however expressed excitement at the turnout of voters for the ongoing governorship election.
The Edo state Governor also commended INEC for improving its operations.
He was especially impressed that INEC allowed voters to cast their votes immediately after their accreditation.
Governor Adams Oshiomhole has also alleged that the jailed underwear bomber, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab was registered for the Edo election.
