Edo goes to the polls for new governor tomorrow
In
the race for a new governor, the 19 political parties in Edo State will
know their fate tomorrow as they go to the polls. Registered voters in
the 18 local governments are expected to choose a successor for the
outgoing Governor Adams Oshiomhole.There was a meeting yesterday of top
Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officials at the Bishop
Kelly Pastoral Centre along Airport Road, Benin City.
Odigie-Oyegun declines comment on Tinubu
The
National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief John
Odigie-Oyegun has refused to respond to allegations levelled against him
by the National Leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu over Ondo
State primaries. He may however, react after the Edo State governorship
election.
Emirates rejects naira in payment for flight
Emirates
Airlines has rejected the Nigerian currency, naira, for payment by
travellers to Brazil.The Dubai-based airline is rather demanding a
credit card mode of payment from passengers at the Murtala Muhammed
International Airport (MMIA), Lagos.

Avengers force Shell to shut down Nigeria’s major crude oil export line
Nigeria’s
crude oil production suffered fresh set back Monday as Trans Niger
Pipeline, (TNP), which exports about 180, 000 barrels of crude oil per
day was shut down as a precautionary measure after a fire was seen on
the “right of way” at Gio community in Ogoni land, one of the two
pipelines that export Bonny Light crude oil.
