Senate President, Bukola Saraki has confirmed President Muhammadu Buhari’s insistence on the appointment of Ibrahim Magu as chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Saraki read a letter from Buhari on Tuesday,
January 24, in which the president urged the Senate to reconsider its
position on Magu.
The letter was said to have been sent to the Senate on Sunday, January 23, by Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo.
The upper legislative chamber had, on
December 15, 2016, rejected Magu after it was presented with a security
report on him compiled by the Department of State Services (DSS).
